Soxfest 2008 Hotel Packages on Sale Nov. 6
10/23/2007, CHICAGO -- Two-night hotel reservations at the Palmer House Hilton for SoxFest 2008, presented by U.S. Cellular, go on sale Tuesday, November 6 at 10:00 a.m. CST through the Palmer House Hilton reservation line at (877) 865-5321.
The special SoxFest hotel rate is $249 (plus tax and applicable charges) for a two-night stay. Fans are limited to two rooms per reservation, and there is an additional charge of $25 per person in rooms with more than two adults. Fans who purchase a two-night stay are eligible to purchase up to four SoxFest weekend passes at $75 each. Please note that SoxFest passes must be purchased in addition to the hotel package.
New for SoxFest 2008, a limited number of Premium Packages will be available for sale to hotel guests only. Each package includes: a special SoxFest welcome pack; an MVP pass that will allow quick entry to designated autograph sessions; an exclusive autograph session on Friday night; and an exclusive photo session on Saturday. Premium Packages will be available for $200. In another change for 2008, Friday night of SoxFest will be open to SoxFest hotel guests only. A limited number of Saturday/Sunday two-day packages, also new this year, will go on sale at a later date.
SoxFest, which offers fans the opportunity to meet their favorite current and former White Sox players, question-and-answer sessions and skills clinics for younger fans, will be held January 25-27, 2008. Dates and times are: Friday, 4:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
White Sox general manager Ken Williams and manager Ozzie Guillen are scheduled to attend. Current players who have attended in the past include: Mark Buehrle, Jermaine Dye, Josh Fields, Bobby Jenks, Paul Konerko, Jim Thome and Javier Vazquez.
This is the second year the historic Palmer House Hilton will host the annual Chicago White Sox fan convention, which is now in its 16th year.
