NEW YORK, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- MTV Networks' Music & Logo Group and Jive Records today announced that Britney Spears' highly anticipated new album, Blackout, will be streamed exclusively through The Leak on MTV.com, VH1.com and LOGOonline.com beginning today - a full week in advance of its official release date. The Leak is the only online destination where fans can listen to Blackout in its entirety prior to Oct. 30. MTV Networks will drive further interest in Blackout by promoting it on-air on MTV, MTV Hits, MTV Tr3s, VH1 and Logo.
One of the year's most eagerly awaited albums, Blackout features the smash hit "Gimme More," which stormed the charts worldwide. Domestically, "Gimme More" ranks #1 on iTunes Store's Top Songs Chart and is the #1 iTunes video. Recently, the song made a meteoric jump from #68 to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart, where it currently ranks #6. Further, digital single sales abroad are impressive. In the UK this week, "Gimme More" debuts #3 on the iTunes Store's Top Songs chart and holds the top spot in Australia and Canada on iTunes. Overall, the song is a Top 20 hit on the European Top 100 Airplay chart.
