NPR's The Bryant Park Project Launching Interactive Series on Nuclear Power

October 22, 2007, Washington, D.C. – Starting tomorrow, NPR’s The Bryant Part Project will take a look at nuclear power through a unique multimedia series – including four days of interviews and reports on the radio show and video and interactive features and discussions online.

Inspired by current legislation in Congress that could finance new nuclear reactors, BPP will delve into the politics of the energy bill; chat with Bonnie Raitt about her push to oppose nuclear energy, 28 years after she headlined the famous “No Nukes” concert; and explore why prominent experts who once opposed nuclear power have now changed their minds.

Tuesday, Oct. 23:
On air: Interviews with Washington Post energy correspondent Steve Mufson, who will explain the provision in the Senate’s energy bill that could help finance a boom in nuclear reactor construction, as well as the political battle surrounding the bill, and with Bonnie Raitt, who is leading a group of high-profile musicians traveling to Washington this week to speak out against the bill
