Colorado Governor Ritter To Honor Renewable Energy Excellence In Colorado
Nominations For 'Governor's Excellence In Renewable Energy Awards' Now Being Accepted
October 17, 2007 -- Colorado Governor Bill Ritter today announced that nominations are now being accepted for the first "Governor's Excellence in Renewable Energy Awards." The award will recognize and honor individuals, businesses, institutions and nonprofits that are advancing renewable energy in Colorado in outstanding ways.
"Colorado has rich renewable resources like biomass, solar, geothermal and wind, and also has tremendous intellectual resources to match them," Gov. Ritter said. "We're looking forward to this first annual award to showcase the best in renewable energy and those who are advancing the New Energy Economy."
The awards will commend outstanding contributions to protect the environment and provide clean power through the promotion, usage, implementation and technology-development of renewable energy in Colorado. All Coloradans are encouraged to nominate candidates for a "2007 Governor's Excellence in Renewable Energy Award."
Nominations must be submitted by Nov. 9, 2007. The application and more information can be found on the Governor's Energy Office website: www.colorado.gov/energy. Winners will be recognized by Gov. Ritter at the Governor's Excellence in Renewable Energy Awards Ceremony on Dec. 10, 2007.
