Minnesota Twins Announce 2007-2008 Youth Baseball, Softball Training Camps
10/16/2007, MINNEAPOLIS - ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota Twins today announced the 2007 - 2008 FALL/WINTER Youth Training Camps schedule. The training camps are open to kids ages eight to 18, and provide upper Midwest youth with quality baseball and softball instruction at an affordable price in a safe and encouraging atmosphere and cater to athletes interested in improving their baseball or softball skills in a serious instructional atmosphere.
The FALL/WINTER training camp schedule is as follows:
Augsburg College - Minneapolis - Nov. 23, 2007 (day after Thanksgiving) 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Metrodome - Minneapolis Dec. 26 - 27, 2007 - 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Northwestern College - Roseville - Jan. 21, 2008 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Hamline University - St. Paul - Feb. 18, 2008 (President's Day) 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Twins alumni and other qualified coaches will participate as speakers and instructors. The daily camp schedule includes skill development stations in the morning (including hitting, defense, pitching) and following lunch, afternoon sessions feature live play situations, speakers, contests and strength & conditioning instruction.
The Youth Training Camp director is Erik Lovdahl who has 18 years experience coaching at the collegiate and high school levels. He is a Minnesota Twins batting practice pitcher, owner of Lovdahl Pitching Academy, MYAS Gopher State pitching camp director, and former professional player. Erik and his staff train countless baseball and softball players at all levels throughout the Upper Midwest.
The registration fees are $75 per person for one-day camps and $150 for the December two-day camp. Discounts are available for registering for two or more camp sessions or for registering multiple family members. The registration fee must be paid in full at the time of registration. All cancellations must be received 10 days prior to the camp, and camp registrations will be taken until the camp is full. Approximately 100 youth will be at each camp. In addition to quality instruction from the region's best coaches, camp participants will receive a camp t-shirt and commemorative Twins items.
