2008 Democratic Presidential Hopefuls Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd to Each Appear Next Week on "The View," Oct. 15-19

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg Launches "Whoopi's Kickin' Butts," Her Personal Campaign to Quit Smoking

Thursday, October 11, 2007 -- 2008 Democratic Presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Chris Dodd will each make a guest appearance next week on "The View," ABC's Emmy(r) Award-winning talk and entertainment program. "The View" airs Monday-Friday, 11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET, on the ABC Television Network.

Whoopi Goldberg, moderator of ABC's "The View," revealed last week that she has a dirty little secret, one she has in common with millions of Americans - she smokes. Through her series of weekly segments, beginning Monday, Oct. 15, viewers will be taken on Whoopi's personal journey as she reveals for the first time how long she has smoked, why she smokes, how much she smokes and why she has finally decided to quit. Whoopi will be given tips from staff members and advice from medical experts on living a smoke-free life.

On Wednesday, Oct. 17, "The View" will air a live one-hour "Special Edition" theme show focusing on awareness, early detection, prevention and breast cancer survivors.

"The View" features Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. It's the original forum in which real women discuss everyday issues and share their no-holds-barred opinions and engage in colorful conversations. Since its launch, "The View" has received 22 Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show. The show has received numerous nominations, including ten consecutive nominations for Outstanding Daytime Talk Show and Outstanding Talk Show Host.
