Monday Night Countdown Features

October 11, 2007 -- Former NFL coach Bill Parcells, who led the Patriots to the team’s second Super Bowl appearance in 1997 and rebuilt the Dallas Cowboys into its current roster as the team’s coach from 2003 to 2006, will make a special Sunday NFL Countdown appearance Sunday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m ET. Parcells will join Chris Berman, Mike Ditka, Keyshawn Johnson, Tom Jackson, Emmitt Smith and NFL insider Chris Mortensen as they preview “The Duel in Dallas” Patriots at Cowboys game featuring two 5-0 teams.

The two-hour program will also preview all league games and will include reports from Dallas by Wendi Nix covering the Patriots and Ed Werder reporting Cowboys news, and Rachel Nichols in Green Bay for the Redskins at Packers game. Steve Young will contribute his weekly Sunday segment – “Young is Restless” – featuring his opinion on the week's hottest topics. Other highlights:

Belichick’s Sweatshirt

Legendary head coaches are often identifiable by their wardrobe. Tom Landry’s suit and hat, Mike Ditka and Joe Gibbs with team logo sweaters, and Bill Belichick for his well-worn sweatshirt with cut sleeves – sometimes with a hood. Berman, Ditka, Jackson, Johnson and Smith will pick the biggest games of the day and tell fans which players will make the biggest impact in NFL’s Week 6 action.

MONDAY NIGHT COUNTDOWN, 7 P.M. ON ESPN

Monday Night Countdown Delivered by UPS with Berman, Jackson, Johnson, Parcells and Mortensen (in Bristol) and Stuart Scott, Young and Smith (at the MNF game in Atlanta) will review the outcome of Sunday’s games and preview Monday Night Football. The pre-game show will lead into the kickoff of Monday Night Football – New York Giants at Atlanta Falcons (8:30 p.m.), featuring Mike Tirico, Ron Jaworski and Tony Kornheiser with sideline reporters Suzy Kolber and Michele Tafoya.

Sal Paolantonio and Kolber will report on the Giants while Bob Holtzman and Tafoya will cover the Falcons.
