David Hasselhoff Hospitalized Following Alcohol Relapse
10 October 2007, Washington (By Ray McDonald) -- Speaking to the entertainment web site TMZ.com, the 55-year-old actor's publicist Judy Katz said "David had a brief relapse (of alcoholism) and immediately recognized the importance of addressing it with the assistance of his doctors. He is doing fine and will be back home in the morning."
David Hasselhoff, who in May won primary physical custody of his two teenage daughters, has been in Europe for the past month filming Anaconda 3.
Taylor, 17, and Hayley, 15, have been staying with their mother Pamela Bach in their father's absence.
David Hasselhoff temporarily lost custody in May after a video taken by Taylor was leaked showing the inebriated actor slurring his words and attempting to eat a hamburger. In a subsequent statement, he admitted to being an alcoholic.
It is unknown whether David Hasselhoff's relapse will affect his current custody arrangement. A mediation hearing is scheduled for October 11.
