Chicago White Sox Set Deadline for Legacy Brick Sale
Fans have until Nov. 3 to place order for a brick in New Plaza
10/10/2007, CHICAGO -- Chicago White Sox fans have until Saturday, November 3 to place orders for Legacy Bricks to be installed outside of U.S. Cellular Field and unveiled on Opening Day 2008.
Each Legacy Brick comes inscribed with a personalized message and will become part of a new baseball diamond-shaped plaza outside the main entrance to the ballpark. A life-sized white bronze and granite sculpture celebrating the 2005 White Sox World Series Championship will stand at the center of the plaza, with a historical timeline of the franchise along the diamond's base paths.
Proceeds from the sale of Legacy Bricks support Chicago White Sox Charities, the team's philanthropic arm. Since 1991, Chicago White Sox Charities has donated millions of dollars to cancer research and treatment, youth education and athletics, and programs that support Chicago kids and families.
Orders for Legacy Bricks must be placed by 5 p.m. (CDT) on Saturday, November 3 to ensure that each brick will be inscribed and included in the plaza for unveiling on Opening Day 2008. Bricks can be purchased by calling 866-WSOX-BRK or visiting whitesox.com.
