Detroit Tigers Return Edward Campusano to Chicago Cubs
10/10/2007, DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers today announced lefthanded pitcher Edward Campusano has cleared waivers and the club has outrighted his contract to Triple A Iowa in the Chicago Cubs organization.
A Rule 5 Draft selection acquired by the Detroit Tigers in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers on December 7, 2006, Campusano missed the entire 2007 season after undergoing left elbow reconstruction surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament on March 27. The procedure was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, AL.
In five seasons at the minor league level with the Cubs, he has compiled a 9-13 record, 3.17 ERA (213.0IP/75ER) and 26 saves in 109 games.
