Major League Baseball Names 2007 League Championship Series Umpires

Randy Marsh, Tim McClelland to serve as crew chiefs

10/10/2007 -- Major League Baseball has named the two umpiring crews that will officiate the League Championship Series. The National League Championship Series will begin on Thursday, October 11th, while the American League Championship Series will start on Friday, October 12th.

Tim McClelland will serve as the Crew Chief during the National League Championship Series between the Colorado Rockies and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Now in his 26th year as a Major League Umpire, McClelland has received his 16th career postseason assignment, including his seventh LCS. McClelland's crew will include Mark Wegner, Larry Vanover, Tom Hallion, Angel Hernandez and Jim Joyce.

Randy Marsh, a 26-year Major League Umpire, will be the crew chief when the Cleveland Indians and the Boston Red Sox meet in the 2007 American League Championship Series. The Kentucky native has been assigned to the 18th postseason series of his career, including his eighth LCS. Marsh's crew will feature Kerwin Danley, Brian Gorman, Paul Emmel, Gary Cederstrom and regular season crew chief Dana DeMuth.

Umpires for the 103rd World Series will be announced when assignments have been made.
