Verizon Business Selects Juniper Networks for New Managed WAN Optimization Service
WXC Platform Enables Company to Fine-Tune Business Applications Running on Global Corporate Networks
SUNNYVALE, Calif., October 10, 2007 – Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Verizon Business has selected the WXC platform, a highly scalable WAN acceleration solution, for a new Managed WAN Optimization Service. Juniper's high-performance WXC platform enables Verizon Business' professional services staff to fine-tune network performance to improve application delivery and reduce bottlenecks. Verizon's new Managed WAN Optimization Service, which relies on Juniper's WXC platform, can help distributed enterprises to accelerate application delivery over the WAN, leverage WAN investments and boost user productivity.

The WXC platform improves application performance over the WAN by recognizing and eliminating redundant transmissions; accelerating TCP and application-specific protocols; prioritizing and allocating access to bandwidth; and ensuring high application availability at sites with multiple WAN links. The WXC application acceleration platforms work end-to-end with a multitude of applications, including Web-based, client-server, custom software, voice and video. The platforms also include a broad set of management tools for monitoring and reporting on WAN and application performance.
