Cameo Carlson Appointed Senior Vice President, Digital Business Development, Universal Motown Records Group
New York, New York, October 9, 2007 - Cameo Carlson has been appointed Senior Vice President of Digital Business Development for the Universal Motown Records Group, it was announced today by Mel Lewinter, Chairman and CEO of Universal Motown Records Group.
“Cameo’s unique experience and perspective in expanding both the partnerships and playing field of the digital and mobile arena adds a significant component to our overall new media strategy,” stated Mr. Lewinter. “Her proven ability to align new business models with connective artists and marketers will enhance our digital repertoire, adding sustainable value to our roster as we continue to grow content for an increasingly mobile consumer. The entire company joins me in welcoming Cameo to the entire Universal Motown Records Group family.”
Ms. Carlson will report directly to Mel Lewinter, Chairman of Universal Motown Records Group, and additionally to Sylvia Rhone, President of Universal Motown Records, and Monte Lipman, President of Universal Republic Records. Ms. Carlson will be responsible for coordinating strategic mobile and online marketing partnerships for all Universal Motown and Universal Republic artists.
Previously Ms. Carlson was Manager of Music Programming and Label Relations for iTunes, overseeing U.S. editorial music programming and label relations for the company.
From 2000 to 2004 Ms. Carlson was the rock and alternative programmer for more than 20 stations for AOL’s Radio Products, including Radio@AOL, Netscape Radio, Spinner.com and other AOL affiliated online destinations.
From 1996 to 2000 Ms. Carlson was the Morning Show Host/assistant program director for Alternative radio station KFMZ in Columbia, MO.
Ms. Carlson graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
