Bill Cosby Sets The Record Straight And Delivers A Powerful Message To Parents On The Oprah Winfrey Show Wednesday, October 17

TUESDAY, October 9, 2007, Chicago, IL — Legendary entertainer and "America's favorite dad" Bill Cosby is all fired up and speaking out on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday, October 17. Bringing his passion for dialogue and debate to the Oprah Show stage, Cosby sounds off on the controversy over his 2004 remarks and takes on topics including absent fathers, teenage pregnancy, violence, the n-word, spanking and much more.

Uncensored, unplugged and utterly unapologetic, Cosby speaks candidly about his reaction to the controversy that erupted after a speech he gave in 2004. Says Cosby, "The only thing I regretted was I thought that I was talking to just my people. I said, okay, I'm gonna talk to my people and I guess there were some black people who saw some white people sitting around and then they decided that I was dragging out dirty laundry."

Speaking about his detractors after the speech, Cosby says, "I thought they were crazy. I said, these people have lost their minds."

Bill Cosby, co-author of the new book Come on, People, then delivers an urgent message to parents as he speaks out on some of the problems plaguing American youth, including violence, drugs and teenage pregnancy. Says Cosby, "Our children are trying to tell us something…and we're not listening."

On Oprah.com, viewers will find exclusive parenting content and resources, including information on alternatives to spanking.
