Houston Dynamo: Be a Member of 'The Ching Team'

Brian Ching wants you to join his team!

10/08/2007 -- The Houston Dynamo star is looking for 11 student athletes to help raise awareness about health and fitness. Students in grades 3-10 are eligible to serve as ambassadors for the fight against childhood obesity.

Why 11? That's the number of players on a soccer team, and 11 is Brian Ching's jersey number when he plays on the United States National Team.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for me to give back to the community and to lead by example," says Brian. "The charity that works with THE CHING TEAM tackles issues that need to be addressed and I think child obesity is a dangerous issue. It's something we as adults need to inform and encourage kids to think about."

Student athletes interested in being a part of THE CHING TEAM can get an entry form by contacting Jen Cooper at KICKS Indoor Soccer at jen.cooper@kicksindoor.com, or call (713) 426-1107. Entries for THE CHING TEAM are due by Thursday, November 1 and entries are limited to residents of the Greater Houston area. The team will be notified on November 5 and introduced November 6.
