The American Craft Show Returns to Charlotte
10/05/2007 -- The highly-anticipated American Craft Show is coming to town, bringing new artists and new work to the Charlotte Convention Center Nov. 2-4, 2007.
Presented by the American Craft Council for the 13th consecutive year, this exciting event includes 225 premier artists from across the country who will present their latest handcrafted jewelry, clothing, furniture, home décor and more! Many of the artists juried into this prestigious show are from North Carolina.
The American Craft Show will include live demonstrations presented by organizations such as Carolina Mountain Woodturners, as well as an exhibition featuring the artistic talent of students from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, organized by The Mint Museums. The show will also have daily raffles, giving visitors the chance to win gift certificates to redeem at the show every day.
The show is open Friday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $12 for a one-day pass and $18 for a two-day pass. The American Craft Council is a national, nonprofit educational organization founded in 1943 by craft pioneer Aileen Osborn Webb. The Council's mission is to promote understanding and appreciation of contemporary American craft. Programs include the annual series of juried craft shows, the bimonthly magazine AMERICAN CRAFT, the Aileen Osborn Webb Awards honoring excellence in craft, conferences and seminars, and a specialized library on contemporary craft. www.craftcouncil.org/charlotte.
