Cleveland Indians Announce ALDS Game 2 Pregame Festivities
- Shaker Heights native and gold & platinum solo piano recording artist Jim Brickman to perform the National Anthem
- Musician, tv & film star Queen Latifah to toss ceremonial first pitch
- 16 year-old Erik Williams will be representing Flashes of Hope and Littlest Heroes by also tossing a ceremonial first pitch
10/04/2007, CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Indians today announced pregame festivities for 2007 A.L. Division Series Game 2 at Jacobs Field on Friday, Oct. 5 at 5 p.m. vs. the New York Yankees.
Shaker Heights, OH native JIM BRICKMAN will perform the National Anthem on a baby grand piano prior to the game. Jim Brickman is an Adult Contemporary recording artist who has achieved six Gold and Platinum selling albums, three #1 and 12 Top 10 hits and a Grammy nomination in 2003.
Musician, TV and Film Star QUEEN LATIFAH, in Cleveland performing at Playhouse Square on Friday to promote her new album "Trav'lin' Light", will toss a ceremonial first pitch prior to Division Series Game 2.
ERICK WILLIAMS will also toss a ceremonial first pitch representing Flashes of Hope and the Littlest Heroes, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating powerful, uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Williams is a 16 year-old Junior at Wyndam High School where he pitches and plays first base on the baseball team.
Fans are encouraged to be in their seats 45 minutes prior to first pitch to enjoy all pregame festivities. Jacobs Field Gates will open two (2) hours prior to game time for all postseason games. Gates will open at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5; first pitch is scheduled for 5:07 p.m.
With start times slated for the early evening, downtown traffic and parking issues will be challenging. RTA, recently voted as the best public transit system in North America by APTA (American Public Transit Association), will be fully operational with increased bus and rail service to offer fan convenience with transportation to and from Jacobs Field. The RTA walkway connecting Terminal Tower and Gateway Plaza will open two hours prior to game time.
ALL FANS will receive a red "It's Tribe Time Now!" Rally Towel on Friday, courtesy of the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame.
A valid ticket is needed for admittance to Jacobs Field. For Friday, Oct. 5 - use ALDS Home Game #2 Ticket.
