Texas Rangers Announce 2008 Home MLB Schedule

09/27/2007, ARLINGTON -- The Texas Rangers today announced their 2008 regular season home schedule, which begins Tuesday, April 8, 2008 when the Rangers host Baltimore for the season's home opener at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. This will be the third consecutive season to open at home against a team from the American League East after starting at home with Boston the last two seasons.

Texas has five home series in April with Toronto and the Angels coming in after the Orioles for the first homestand of the season. Minnesota (Apr. 25-27) and Kansas City (29-May 1) round out the month.

The Rangers have two other homestands in May featuring Oakland, Seattle and Houston from May 9-18 and finishing the month with the beginning of a series with Oakland that will spill over into June.

Following the series with the A's to start June, Cleveland and Tampa Bay come to Rangers Ballpark. The next home series in June features the final two interleague home opponents of 2008 in Atlanta (17-19) and the first-ever visit to Texas by Philadelphia (27-29).

The club has 11 home games in July and they fall into three series, which feature the Angels, Chicago and Seattle.

In August the club will play 16 home games and features the only visit of the season by the New York Yankees on Aug. 4-7.

Texas has five home series in September highlighted by the only visit of the year by Boston from Sept. 5-7. The club finishes the home season from the 22nd-24th vs. Oakland.

The club will begin and finish the season on the road and the complete schedule will be announced at a later date. Complete ticket information, game times and the broadcast schedule will also be announced in the near future.

The club's popular 10 Packs go on sale Monday, Oct. 1 for 2008 home games. Fans can choose from four great seating locations for these 10 Packs, which include Lexus Club Box ($349, $450 value), Corner Box ($179, $330 value), Lower Reserved ($99, $250 value) and Upper Reserved ($79, $150 value). These vouchers can be redeemed in any combination for any 2008 regular season game, excluding Opening Day. Fans who purchase vouchers by Dec. 1, 2007 qualify to redeem them before individual tickets go on sale to the general public. Fans who purchase a Lexus Club Box or Corner Box 10 Pack will receive two free upper level tickets to one of seven Dallas Stars games.

Additionally, the club's annual Winter Banquet will take place on Friday, Jan. 25 at Eddie Dean's Ranch in Dallas with the annual Fan Fest taking place the next day (Sat., Jan. 26) at Rangers Ballpark. Ticket information on these events will be announced in the future.
