Texas Rangers Extend KFLC Spanish Radio Contract through 2009
Announcers Eleno Ornelas and Jose Guzman agree to extensions
09/25/2007, ARLINGTON -- The Texas Rangers announced today the club extended its Spanish broadcasting agreement with Univision Radio through the 2009 season and agreed to contract extensions with Spanish Broadcasting Coordinator Eleno Ornelas and color analyst Jose Guzman.
"We are proud to be part of the DFW Hispanic community and excited that Eleno and Jose will continue to bring Rangers Baseball to our Spanish-speaking fans in their native language on KFLC," said Rangers President Jeff Cogen.
Univision Radio, KFLC (1270 AM), has been the team's Spanish flagship station since 1999. The Rangers and KFLC will continue to carry all 162 regular-season games, originating live from both Rangers Ballpark in Arlington and all visiting ballparks, for the next two seasons. KFLC will be the flagship station for all of the broadcasts, and the Rangers will sell all advertising and produce the broadcasts.
Eleno Ornelas serves as the producer and play-by-play announcer for all home and away Spanish radio broadcasts and also contributes to the Rangers Hispanic marketing and community initiatives in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. He has been with the Rangers Spanish radio broadcast team since 2000 and will continue to travel with the team to all road games.
Jose Guzman has been the color analyst for home games since the 2003 season. He will continue to serve as the home color analyst in addition to making appearances on behalf of the team.
