September 24, 2007 -- SANTA FE — New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson today announced that Felon, a feature film from Tooley Productions and Vincent Newman Entertainment, will be shot in New Mexico.

The film will be shot in and around Santa Fe from October 9 through November 2 and expects to hire approximately 60 New Mexico crew members and over 300 local principal actors and background talent.

Tucker Tooley, Vincent Newman and Dan Keston will produce, and Ric Roman Waugh will direct. Producers are in final negotiations with actors Steven Dorff, Val Kilmer, Harold Perrineau, Sam Shepard, Marisol Nichols, and Ann Archer.

Felon tells the story of a family man who is convicted of murder for killing an intruder, as he struggles to survive the violent penal system which includes a maximum-security state prison in which a corrupt lieutenant tries to maintain power and order, even if it means crossing the line.

Since Richardson took office, over 80 feature film and television projects have shot in the state, adding over $1.2 billion dollars to New Mexico’s economy.
