Detroit Tigers Release 2008 Home Baseball Schedule

Royals, White Sox will visit Detroit to begin next season
09/21/2007, DETROIT -- With the final homestand of the 2007 regular season set to begin tonight, the Detroit Tigers on Friday released the home portion of their 2008 Championship Season schedule.
Fans can access the entire home schedule online at www.tigers.com beginning at 5 p.m. (EDT) today. The Detroit Tigers also expect to distribute copies of the 2008 home schedule to fans attending the Minnesota series, which begins on Monday night at 7:05.
The Tigers will open and close the 2008 campaign at home. Opening Day in 2008 will be on Monday, March 31 at 1:05 p.m. when the Kansas City Royals visit Comerica Park to open a three-game series. The Royals and Tigers are scheduled to play March 31, followed by a day off, then conclude the series on April 2-3. The Chicago White Sox come to Detroit for the weekend from April 4-6. Minnesota, Texas and Los Angeles will also visit Detroit in April.
The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees will come to Comerica Park as part of the same homestand from May 5-11. Boston will make its only Detroit appearance of the season from May 5-7. The Yankees follow for a four-game, weekend series from May 8-11.
A four-game series from June 6-9 will be the first of three visits by the Cleveland Indians. The Tigers and Indians will also square off in Detroit on July 8-9 and August 26-28.
Three National League teams are on the home slate in June as part of Interleague Play. The Los Angeles Dodgers are in from June 13-15, followed by the St. Louis Cardinals from June 24-26 and the Colorado Rockies from June 27-29.
The Tigers will close the 2008 season with a seven-game homestand against the Royals and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
