Arizona Diamondbacks Host Fall and Winter Training Centers Clinics
One-day post-Thanksgiving camps provide alternative during busy shopping day
09/21/2007, PHOENIX -- Registration is now being accepted for 17 Arizona Diamondbacks Training Centers baseball clinics and five softball clinics that will take place this fall and winter in 11 Arizona communities.
The weeklong fall camps will feature more than 15 hours of basics of hitting, fielding and pitching instruction for youths ages six-12 years old. The winter schedule offers three-day camps, which are condensed versions of the weeklong clinics. Both camps feature at least one instructor for every 10 students in camp and will teach the fundamentals of the game based on skill level.
In addition to the weeklong and three-day camps, the D-backs Training Centers will also host a one-day post-Thanksgiving clinic. This camp will take place on Nov. 23 at four locations near shopping malls. Along with the goals to provide kids with training in baseball and softball fundamentals, these one-day clinics should provide parents an alternative place to bring their children during busy holiday shopping time. The camp will include a morning Training Centers session, lunch and an afternoon game.
The Arizona Diamondbacks Training Centers are the official youth baseball and softball camps of the Arizona Diamondbacks. In six years, over 15,000 kids have "learned to play the Diamondbacks way." From basic fundamentals to advanced player evaluations, the training programs are designed to meet Arizona's baseball and softball needs. Each camp day and session is choreographed to maximize participation and activity time and is structured to provide the best learning environment for each child. The instructions are handpicked by the D-backs organization from a group of former professional players and local collegiate and high school coaches.
Enrollment for each camp is limited. For more information and to register, please call 800.821.7152 or visit www.dbacks.com/camps.
