California Governor Schwarzenegger Welcomes Home California National Guard Members
09/20/2007 -- California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today released the following statement regarding the return of more than 40 members of the California National Guard’s 40th Personnel Services Detachment:
“As we welcome each of you home, Maria and I extend our sincere appreciation for your courageous service while defending our country overseas. We have a tremendous amount of respect for your willingness to undertake such an important duty. We also want to recognize your families for all that they endured while you were deployed abroad. On behalf of all Californians, welcome home! We are excited to have you back in the Golden State.”
The California National Guard’s 40th Personnel Services Detachment returned home Monday at the Sacramento International Airport. During their one-year tour in Kuwait and Qatar, the 40th Personnel Services Detachment’s primary mission was to provide administrative and other soldier support to troops deploying into Iraq.
