Statement of Hillary Clinton on Potential Visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Ground Zero
September 19, 2007 -- Washington, DC – In response to reports that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has requested to visit Ground Zero while in New York for the United Nations General Assembly meetings, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton issued the following statement:
"It is unacceptable for Iranian President Ahmadinejad, who refuses to renounce and end his own country’s support of terrorism, to visit the site of the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil in our nation’s history."
