Frank Lautenberg Reacts To Bush Announcement of Attorney General Pick
September 17, 2007 -- WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) issued the following statement on President Bush’s nomination of Judge Michael Mukasey to be Attorney General:
"We need to bring law and order back to the Justice Department. Judge Mukasey's nomination appears to be a step in the right direction. We need an Attorney General who can make decisions independent of the White House. That's the type of Attorney General I'll be looking for during the upcoming confirmation hearings."
