Typhoon Moves Towards Taiwan, China

18 September 2007 -- Meteorologists in East Asia are warning residents in Taiwan and eastern China to brace for Typhoon Wipha, after a separate storm passed through South Korea, killing at least 14.
Forecasters say Wipha is strengthening with winds over 200 kilometers per hour and could bring heavy rains Tuesday.
Another storm, Typhoon Nari, hit South Korea Sunday, displacing nearly 1,000 people, mostly on the resort island of Jeju and in Jeolla Province.
Flooding from that storm knocked out electricity to thousands of residents, destroyed hundreds of homes and businesses, damaged crops and washed out roads.
Forecasters say South Korea could again see heavy rains later week as Typhoon Wipha goes back out to sea.
