NME.COM Announces Deal with iTunes to Launch NME Video Podcasts

September 11, 2007 -- NME.COM – the award-winning international 24/7 music website – today announces a deal with digital media giant iTunes to offer music fans worldwide unique NME Video footage, available to download free.

The deal sees iTunes house over 50 NME Video podcasts, featuring exclusive interviews with some of the greatest names in music carried out across this year's festival season, including Foo Fighters, Iggy Pop, Kings of Leon, Muse, The Kooks, Dizzee Rascal, The Gossip, My Chemical Romance and many more.

IPC Ignite Digital editor-in-chief, Anthony Thornton, says: "NME.COM has always had its heart in video from way back in 1999. After a massive summer of interviews with some of the most exciting artists of 2007 music fans can leave their computers behind and see them on the move."

This week also sees the launch of a new video channel on NME.COM, making available all of NME Video's exclusive interviews in one place for the first time on the site. With over 100 videos in the channel at launch, the new extension of the site brings music fans even closer to the artists they love.

NME editor, Conor McNicholas says "NME.COM is already famous for creating world-class video content and now we have a world-beating archive. Our new video services mean music fans will be able to mine a rich seam of interviews and more from all their favourite bands. And this is only the start."

NME's fantastic access to the very biggest names in music means that users of the site can access the kind of footage they won't find anywhere else. Recent festivals have seen NME interviewing top acts including Metallica just moments before they go on stage; making the video footage available to view by the time the band starts playing.

Videos like this, which have been made available on video sharing website YouTube, have already reached over a quarter of a million views following the Carling Weekend, proving the high demand music fans have for such unique content.
