Comcast SportsNet Announces Region's Most Extensive ACC College Football Lineup for 2007

Network to carry ACC Kickoff Week, area coaches' shows, coaches' reports, and ACC replays as home of Maryland, Virginia Tech, and Virginia football.

Aug. 31, 2007, BETHESDA, Md. - Comcast SportsNet, the leader in local sports television, announces today the most extensive Atlantic Coast Conference football lineup in the region. The network, home to the Terrapins, Hokies and Cavaliers, partners with one of the nation's elite conferences for a comprehensive lineup of coaches shows, ACC playbacks, and extensive coverage within SportsNite with "ACC Kickoff Week" and weekly University of Maryland, Virginia Tech and University of Virginia coaches reports throughout the season.

Beginning Sunday, Sept. 2, Comcast SportsNet will debut Terrapins Playback and Hokie Playback, re-airing the two schools' Saturday games in their entireties. Terrapins Playback, featuring the previous day's University of Maryland game, airs each Sunday at 7 p.m. Hokie Playback, featuring the previous day's Virginia Tech football matchup, airs each Sunday at 12:30 p.m. The network will also air Cavalier Playback, a weekly replay of the week's University of Virginia matchup, throughout the fall.

"As the official regional sports network of the University of Maryland, Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia, Comcast SportsNet will provide its viewers with the most comprehensive ACC football programming in the area," said Rebecca Schulte, senior vice president and general manager of Comcast SportsNet. "With the game playbacks, coaches reports, exclusive interviews and features within SportsNite, and ACC Kickoff Week, the network will once again be the destination for college football fans throughout the Mid-Atlantic."

The network also features the weekly coaches shows of University of Maryland Coach Ralph Friedgen, Virginia Tech Coach Frank Beamer and University of Virginia Coach Al Groh. These half-hour shows will air each Saturday morning beginning at 10 a.m.

During SportsNite, viewers can catch in-depth, exclusive reports from each of the three schools. The nightly news program features "Inside the Coach's Office with Ralph Friedgen" every Wednesday, "Chalk Talk with Al Groh" every Thursday and "Talkin' Beamer Ball with Frank Beamer" every Friday throughout the football season.

The ACC football season officially began on Comcast SportsNet Sunday, Aug. 26, with "ACC Kickoff Week." The network is dedicating six consecutive nights to preview ACC football within SportsNite at 6:30 and 10 p.m. Throughout the week, the network features some of the conference's standouts for 2007 including Ike Whitaker and Erin Henderson and Comcast SportsNet analyst Doc Walker will take viewers inside the Atlantic and Coastal Division races. Comcast SportsNet's David Lee will also have an exclusive sit down interview with Groh, breaking down game film from last season. Comcast SportsNet's Chris Miller will be live from Blacksburg, Va., Aug. 30-Sept. 1, with a comprehensive look at how the athletic program will help the community move forward from the April tragedy.

Comcast SportsNet will continue to look at the Virginia Tech athletic program as the network debuts its "SportsNite: On Campus" series Sept. 22, as William & Mary travels to Blacksburg to take on the Hokies. During the first of six "SportsNite: On Campus" dates for the network, Comcast SportsNet will immerse itself into the University's cultures, traditions, fanfare, and customs surrounding football Saturdays for the first in a series of area campus invasions.
