Issac Delgado and Victor Manuelle Super Saturday concert highlights weekend series

08/30/2007, MIAMI -- The Florida Marlins are set to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Weekend presented by JM Lexus starting Friday, Aug. 31 and through Sunday, Sept. 2 as they square off against NL East rivals Philadelphia Phillies for a three-game series at Dolphin Stadium. The weekend will feature great giveaways, special autograph sessions and a Super Saturday Concert.

FRIDAY, AUG. 31 Marlins vs. Phillies (7:05 p.m.)
Giveaways: First 10,000 fans receive a Hanley Ramirez figurine presented by Badia Spices and Hispanic Heritage T-shirts at Fan Headquarters at section 149 for the first 500 fans. Ceremonial First Pitch: Israel "Cachao" Lopez, a Cuban-born musician and composer, has been described as the "inventor of Mambo music". Cachao won numerous Grammy Awards (2003 and 2005 his most recent) for his own work (as an acoustic bass player) and for his collaborations with various artists in Latin music such as Gloria Estefan and Tito Puente.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 1 Marlins vs. Phillies (7:05 p.m.)
Giveaways: First 5,000 cars receive a Marlins Flashlight presented by NAPA Auto Parts and the first 25,000 fans receive a Marlins Maraca presented by El Dorado Furniture.
Pre-game Ceremony: Marlins slugger Miguel Cabrera will be presented as the Hispanic Player of the Year Award as voted on by fans at Latinobaseball.com. Also, Citgo representatives will present the championship team from the Citgo Urban Youth Baseball Tournament, celebrated earlier in the day at Miami's Grapeland Park, with their championship trophy.
Ceremonial First Pitches: Issac Delgado and Victor Manuelle. Issac Delgado, had his first album released in the United States "En Primera Plana" recently nominated for Best Album by the Latin Grammies (first nomination). Issac and Victor's joint single "La Mujer Que Mas Te Duele" was also nominated for Best Tropical Song.
Super Saturday Post-game Concert: One of Cuba's most famous modern salsa musicians, Delgado's music combines elements of Afro-Caribbean rhythms with pop and jazz. From his days as a member of N.G. La Banda, the Cuban dance group, to leading orchestras on worldwide tours, "El Chevere de la Salsa" continues to entertain salsa lovers everywhere. The New York-born and Puerto Rico-based Victor Manuelle is a successful salsa singer, songwriter, and improvisational sonero, known to his fans as El Sonero de la Juventud ("The Youth's Sonero").

SUNDAY, SEPT. 2 Marlins vs. Phillies (1:05 p.m.)
Giveaways: First 5,000 kids 12-and-under receive a Miguel Cabrera Youth T-shirt presented by Doctors Hospital.
Dominando Con Los Marlins: WQBA 1140 AM will be hosting Dominando con los Marlins, an official dominoes tournament, as part of Marlins Family Sunday at Strike Zone from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dominando is free for all fans.
Ceremonial First Pitches: Jerry del Castillo and Pepe Campos, radio hosts of South Florida's premiere daily Spanish sportstalk show, La Descarga Deportiva. The show broadcasts Monday through Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. on WHRC.
