Oracle ISV Migration Center in Istanbul Celebrates First Anniversary with Highly Successful Track Record
Istanbul, Turkey 29-AUG-2007 06:21 AM Oracle's Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Migration Center in Istanbul, which opened on 29 August 2006, has proven a great success in its first full year of operation and facilitated the migration of 215 ISVs to an Oracle technology platform.
ISVs from across the European Enlargement and CIS (EE&CIS) region have made use of the center to migrate their solutions to Oracle® Database 10g and Oracle Fusion Middleware. Since opening, the facility has been visited by more than 300 software developers from countries including Albania, Serbia, Romania, Greece, Malta, Ukraine, Latvia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary.
The Istanbul ISV Migration Center has been one of Oracle's most successful initiatives in terms of partner recruitment and, based on its success, the company will look to open similar centers in Russia and Poland.
"The interest from ISVs in the region is huge, as they seek the means to expand their business," said ISV Migration Center Manager Nilgun Ercan. "The Istanbul ISV Migration Center enables software vendors to migrate to an Oracle platform in less than 48 hours."
"The Oracle ISV Migration Center is an important benchmark in our close cooperation with Oracle, for the benefit of our partners," said Cem Soysal, Managing Director of Fujitsu Siemens Computers Turkey.
"Our sophisticated products and solutions, like FlexFrame for Oracle, provide service oriented infrastructure for ISVs, especially targeting Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The Istanbul ISV Migration Centre has been an excellent facility to enable partners to realize their full potential. The Dynamic Data Center solution we developed together with Oracle is already in high demand for individual applications, and we're committed to supporting ISV's in their use of forward-looking technology," he said.
The Istanbul ISV Migration Center is becoming a gathering point for Oracle partners in the region as more ISVs chose to switch to Oracle technologies.
Tamer Gulce, General Manager of the Turkish software vendor Formalis Information Technologies, a user of the Oracle ISV Migration Center said; "Scalability, high availability, performance, wide and strong support of Oracle Database 10g, Oracle Java platform solutions, the capabilities of Oracle Migration Workbench tool, Oracle technical support power were the main reasons to choose Oracle."
"Based on the long and fruitful cooperation with Oracle in our target markets, our wide range of experience in using Oracle technologies and the leader position Oracle has in proposing SOA based solutions," said Tamas Erni, CIO of Hungary's LOXON Solutions KFT.
