MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 23, 2007 – The board of directors of Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT), today elected William A. Hawkins to the position of president and chief executive officer, and Michael F. DeMane to the position of chief operating officer. Arthur D. Collins, Jr., remains as chairman of the board.
