John Kerry: Kerry on Selection of Brigadier General Joseph Carter to Lead Massachusetts National Guard
08/15/2007 -- BOSTON - Senator John Kerry today issued the following statement on Governor Deval Patrick's selection of Brigadier General Joseph C. Carter to lead the Massachusetts National Guard.
"At a time when our nation's Guard and Reserve soldiers and families are bearing an incredible burden, I am confident that General Carter will do a remarkable job in continuing Massachusetts' history of strong, forward-thinking leadership," said Senator Kerry.
"I look forward to working with General Carter in making sure we give Massachusetts Guard and Reserve soldiers all the support they need. General Mason has been a true and dedicated patriot as our Adjutant General and I want to thank him for his dedication over the past two and a half years."
