Citrix Password Manager Receives EAL2 Common Criteria Certification

Single Sign-on Solution Strengthens Citrix’s Commitment to Secure IT Requirements for Government

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — 8/8/2007 — Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, today announced that Citrix Password Manager™, a feature of Citrix Presentation Server™ Version 4.5, Platinum Edition, has obtained Common Criteria Certification Evaluation Assurance Level 2 from the Certification Body of the United Kingdom Information Technology Security Evaluation and Certification Scheme. Common Criteria, which is accepted by the International Standards Organization (ISO 15408), provides a comprehensive, rigorous method for specifying security function and assurance requirements for products and systems sold to the U.S. government.

The Common Criteria certification ensures that the Citrix single sign-on solution for accessing password-protected Windows®, Web and host-based applications meets strict government requirements for features such as security functionality and the handling of vulnerabilities. Users authenticate once to the network and the Password Manager feature in Citrix Presentation Server automates logons, password changes and password policy enforcement, making connecting to applications easier, faster and more secure.

The issue of single sign-on solutions is an important one for the federal government. In 2005, the General Services Administration (GSA) established the E-Authorization Federation to facilitate a common infrastructure for electronic authentication. Citizens, businesses and government workers have recently begun using this infrastructure to gain access to E-Government applications and services, which is a key component of the Federal Enterprise Architecture per the President’s Management Agenda. Furthermore, this component provides the infrastructure for federal agencies to implement the policies and recommendations of OMB M–04–04 and NIST SP 800–63. The single sign-on functionality of Password Manager also allows government to implement the policies put forth by HSPD-12. This Homeland Security Presidential Directive calls for the creation of secure and reliable forms of identification issued by the federal government to workers and contractors that enhance security, increase government efficiency, reduce identity fraud and protect personal privacy.

According to Tom Simmons, Area Vice President for Citrix Federal, government IT managers are looking for a certified and secure “one password, one path” approach to application and data delivery in alignment with the E-Authorization policy and HSPD-12. Citrix Password Manager provides just that.
