Ahead of Ames Straw Poll, New Website and Ad Campaign Supports Strongest Republican Candidate: None of the Above
August 10, 2007 -- On the eve of the Ames Straw Poll, the Democratic National Committee today launched a new website and ad campaign highlighting the Republican presidential candidate who best represents the values and priorities of the American people and will work to find real solutions to the challenges facing our country: None of the Above.
The new site, www.imwithnoneoftheabove.com, comes on the heels of recent polls showing that None of the Above is the leading choice for Republicans and that just one in five Republican caucus-goers in Iowa are satisfied with their choices. The national poll by Associated Press/Ipsos showed that 23% of Republicans support none of the above, more than any current or potential candidate in the Republican field. The DNC's new www.imwithnoneoftheabove.com website, along with an ad in today's Ames Tribune, highlights the reason Republican voters and voters across America are dissatisfied with and ready for the only Republican offering real solutions: None of the Above. The ad can be viewed at http://www.democrats.org/page/-/none_of_the_above/images/080707_Noneofth....
"None of the Above is the only option for Republican voters looking for a presidential candidate who represents the values and priorities of the American people and will work to find real solutions to the challenges facing our country," said None of the Above campaign spokesperson and Democratic National Committee Communications Director Karen Finney. "When the American people see how out of touch the current Republican contenders are, how desperate they are to run from their real records, and how little they are offering the American people, we are confident they'll continue to choose the same Republican we do: None of the Above."
