NRDC Releases 17th Annual Vacation Beach Water Quality Report
"Testing the Waters" Documents Record Number of Beach Closings
The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) has conducted a survey of beach closings and beachwater monitoring programs each year for 17 years. This year’s “Testing the Waters: A Guide to Water Quality at Vacation Beaches” will reveal which beaches in California and across the country have pollution problems, and which tested clean.
At the event, NRDC will announce “Beach Bums” and “Beach Buddies” -- the best and the worst among the popular vacation beaches and their record on monitoring water pollution and notifying the public.
