Chicago White Sox, Motorola Host Police and Fire Night
08/07/2007, CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox and Motorola will host "Police and Fire Night" on Thursday, August 9 at U.S. Cellular Field, when the White Sox host the Cleveland Indians at 7:11 p.m.
Specially-priced tickets were made available to members of Chicagoland police and fire departments, their families and friends. The evening is a way for the White Sox and Motorola to honor the dedication and service of Chicago's finest and bravest.
A member from each of the Chicago Police and Fire departments will be honored on-field prior to the game for going above and beyond the call of duty. Each recipient of the pregame distinction will be presented with a commemorative item from the White Sox and the opportunity to throw a ceremonial first pitch.
"Motorola is proud to partner with the White Sox to pay tribute to the brave men and women who protect Chicagoland communities every day," said Mark Moon, senior vice president of Motorola. "On behalf of the thousands of Motorola employees in the Chicago area, we salute these heroes on this special night at the ballpark and we will continue to work with the community to honor and support them."
