07/17/2007 -- California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today released the following statement regarding the return of more than 175 members of the California National Guard’s 1114th Transportation Company:
“Maria and I join all Californians in welcoming each of you back home to our golden state. We are forever grateful to you for your dedication to service while courageously protecting our freedoms. We also wish to acknowledge your devoted families for the sacrifices they endured while you served abroad. Welcome home!”
During their 15-month long combat tour in Iraq, the California National Guard’s 1114th Transportation Company’s primary mission was to provide transportation and logistical support to several coalition units throughout the northern region of the country.
