New Project Will Create 384 New Jobs

July 10, 2007 -- DENMARK – Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle today announced a $94,750 Transportation Economic Assistance (TEA) grant for the Village of Denmark to support the expansion efforts of Salm Partners and Professional Fabrications. This expansion is expected to create 384 new jobs, 195 of which will be at Salm Partners and Professional Fabrications, resulting in $13 million wages annually to help drive Wisconsin’s economy.

“Wisconsin is home to the best companies, and the best workers,” Governor Doyle said. “This is a great day for Denmark and one more step in the effort to grow Wisconsin’s economy. This is just one more example of how the state can team up with businesses and communities to help create new family-supporting jobs.”

The $94,750 grant covers a portion of the costs of constructing a new 800-foot-long road to serve as a truck access route for both Salm Partners and Professional Fabrications. The village is contributing $94,711 to meet the local matching fund requirements of the program.

Salm Partners is constructing a 125,000 square foot plant expansion with a total investment of $34 million. Professional Fabrications, Inc, is constructing a 20,000 square foot plant expansion with state-of-the-art laser cutting equipment with a total capital investment of $1.4 million.

Transportation Economic Assistance (TEA) grants are awarded to local communities, businesses and consortiums for transportation projects that attract employers to Wisconsin or encourage businesses to expand in the state.

Since it was created in 1987, the TEA grant program has invested $72 million in 275 projects benefiting 300 businesses and creating 65,664 jobs in Wisconsin.
