Tom Sizemore: Judge Dramatically Reduces Actor Sizemore's Sentence for Probation Violation
27 June 2007 -- Tom Sizemore's sentence for violating probation in a drug case has been dramatically cut.
In a June 26 decision, California Superior Court Judge Cynthia Rayvis gave the actor 213 days of credit for time he has already spent in jail and two live-in drug treatment programs. It leaves him with about nine months in state prison.
Deputy District Attorney Sean Carney says Sizemore will likely serve about half that term. The 45-year-old actor, whose screen credits include "Saving Private Ryan" and "Blackhawk Down," was not in court for the decision. He has been jailed without bail since June 5. His lawyer, Fay Arfa, did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
Sizemore, who was arrested May 8 in Bakersfield, California, is charged with seven drug-related counts, including transportation and possession of methamphetamines and being under the influence of a controlled substance. He faces up to six years in prison if convicted of all the charges.
