New York Governor Eliot Spitzer On The Shooting Of Trooper Amanda Reif
June 19, 2007 -- "Our state troopers are trained to expect the unexpected, but frequently cannot avoid dangerous situations.
That is what happened yesterday when Trooper Amanda Reif of Troop B in Canton was shot in the shoulder while responding to a 911 call.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family during her recovery.
This incident, and other recent incidents, should increase our appreciation and respect for those who place themselves in harm’s way to protect us."
