California Governor Schwarzenegger Statement on Assembly Republican Leader Mike Villines Redistricting Reform Proposal
06/04/2007 -- California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today issued the following statement regarding Assembly Republican Leader Mike Villines redistricting reform measure:
“Reforming the redistricting process is the most important action we can take to return control of the political process back to Californians. I applaud Assembly Republican Leader Mike Villines for introducing a measure that would create an independent commission, a vital component of any true reform.
There are many proposals on the table this year, and I look forward to working with all the legislative leaders to restore the competitive and fair elections process that the people of California deserve.”
