NBA Playoffs: Cavaliers Beat Pistons
28 May 2007 -- In the National Basketball Association playoffs, the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Detroit Pistons 88-82 for their first victory in the Eastern Conference finals.
LeBron James scored 32 points and nine rebounds to lead the host Cavaliers Sunday in game three of the best-of-seven series. He hit a jump shot that gave Cleveland a four-point lead with just 16 seconds left in the game.
Drew Gooden sealed the victory, hitting a pair of free throws with six seconds to go. Lithuanian center Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 16 points for Cleveland.
Rasheed Wallace led Detroit with 16 points, and Chris Webber netted 15.
Cleveland can even the series with another win in Tuesday's game four.
The playoffs continue Monday with game four of the Western finals. The San Antonio Spurs lead the Utah Jazz in the best-of-seven series 2-1.
The Eastern and Western Conference champions will play for the NBA title.
