Atlanta Braves Baseball to Travel Around the World with U.S. Airmen in Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the United States

04/24/2007 4:45 PM ET -- The Atlanta Braves will honor the 60th Anniversary of the United States Air Force by sending an official Atlanta Braves baseball around the world with U.S. Airmen. Throughout the summer the Braves baseball, specially designed with a U.S. Air Force 60th Anniversary logo, will visit locations around the globe including Afghanistan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Africa, Germany, France, England, Alaska, Japan, Asia, Hawaii and South America.

The Air Force will deliver the baseball back to Atlanta on September 18 as the Atlanta Braves celebrate Air Force Night at Turner Field.
The Atlanta Braves, a division of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., is Major League Baseball's winningest franchise since 1991. Since then, Braves teams have earned a record 14 consecutive division championships, five National League pennants and a World Series title. Based in Atlanta since 1966, the Braves franchise is the longest continuously operating franchise in Major League Baseball. Atlanta Braves games are telecast on TBS, FSN South and SportSouth, with radio broadcasts heard in Atlanta on 640 WGST and 94.9 The Bull and regionally on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
